We are a group of Hartford advocates who believe in food as a means for social justice. We are in the process of developing a Food Co-op that reflects and directly benefits member owners. All with common purpose are welcome to join.

What is a Food Cooperative?
Co-ops are rooted in the local communities they serve. Compared to traditional supermarkets, food co-ops give more money back to the local economy. Grocery cooperatives do business with farmers in the area, stocking up on fresh produce and specialty items you can't find at a conventional store.
What are the benefits of food cooperatives?
Increases supply of local and organic produce. Easier for people to shop by foot or by bike by providing outlets in residential areas. Provides food that often has less packaging, and generates less waste.
